Signs Your Driveshaft Needs Maintenance
Your driveshaft is an essential part of your vehicle. Without it, your automobile simply would not work. But how do you know if it’s working properly? Such an essential part of your car needs to be kept well-maintained. Here are some signs to watch out for that would indicate that you are in need of driveshaft services.
One of the biggest concerns surrounding a driveshaft is vibration. Vibration in a car can be caused by a number of things: old tires, a bent wheel, or a misaligned U-joint.
But having a driveshaft issue that is causing vibration is something that requires driveshaft services immediately. It can be due to worn-out joints on the driveshaft or a different spin rate between the wheels and the driveshaft, creating disharmony.
Hearing an abnormal noise occurring from your driveshaft can mean any number of issues. The sound could be heard when the gears move from park to reverse to drive. It would sound like a “clunk” underneath the vehicle. The clunk can be heard when the driver shifts from a focus on the breaks to the gas.
Keep an ear out for any abnormal sounds or vibrations, and contact driveshaft services if you are in need of assistance.
